If you don't have video at your next event you're missing a huge opportunity! That is what Ruth Carter realized when she set out to host her fashion night. We partnered up with a friend of ours, Rick Montgomery and set out to capture what was a fascinating night of fashion. This was a unique project because we did not shoot interviews, instead choosing to focus on storytelling through beauty shots, or b roll. When shooting an event like this we had to pay attention not only to the framing of our shots, so that the footage would be up to our quality, but also how we were going to capture the night and link these shots together. Suffice to say it was a unique challenge for Gearshift! You never know what you're going to get until you load all the footage into the editing software and start lining up exactly how you want the highlight reel to look.
